“I started at the end of April 2018 in the role of Compliance Manager.

I have assisted the company in transitioning to the 2015 standards for BS EN ISO9001 and BS EN ISO14001.

Implemented an Integrated Management System to ease access to documentation and procedures for all employees.

Assisted in compiling information for the submission of the RoSPA information, which resulted in the achievement of a RoSPA Silver Award.

Since started I have attended 2 training courses – CITB Site Safety Plus course in Site Management Safety Training Scheme in October 2018 and the ISMS ISO 27001:2013 Lead Auditor course

“After the dream of my previous life ended…! I started a new dream. Working at CALM. I believe I was the 5th or 6th employee of CALM, starting back in 2012 with the title of Project Engineer. The company soon had me trained and fully qualified to carry out confined space entries, which allowed us to survey assets on sewer networks. This was the start of something that has turned out to be very special for all involved in the growth of CALM, and for me personally.

As the business has grown I have been very fortunate to grow with it. With the start of the Non-Powered Ancillary programme, I found myself promoted to Site Supervisor. I was responsible for overseeing the ancillary gangs to ensure that our customers get the professional service that CALM have become renowned for. With the growth of the company came another opportunity, “Operations Manager”. Once again a promotion! Now managing the whole ancillary contract.

All of the growth and subsequent promotions would not have been possible if we did not have such a positive work environment, which encourages innovation and rewards hard work. I truly believe that we are a successful business because of this. When we all pull in the same direction, and work together great things can be achieved. Long may it continue!”

“I joined CALM in December 2013 as gang leader on the ancillary inspections, I came across as part of a TUPE process.

In September 2015, due to growth in the business an opportunity arose to apply for a site supervisors’ job. I was honoured to be offered the role. I was involved in the mobilisation of the new contract, this was a great learning curve for me and great new challenge to be part of!

In February 2016, I was asked to move over to CALM Drainage to help out on an array of different contracts. Originally this was meant to be for a 3-6 month period, but during this time the company continued to grow, and I have remained there full time.

During my time at CALM I have been given the training and support to help me fulfil my roles both as an Operative and Supervisor. I would like to thank CALM for the opportunities given to me and the office staff / management for their help and support throughout my time at CALM.

“I joined CALM in August 2016 as an IT Project Manager.

I have responsibility for the AIMS and Sewer Viewer cloud and mobile platforms. I manage change and project delivery for external UK utilities customers as well as internal operational business units. Over the past few years, I’ve delivered a diverse number of major new features for both of these platforms using agile methodology by combining a blend of technical, management and leadership skills and working as part of a highly skilled and dedicated software development team.

Having spent my previous 30 years in IT working for a global financial services company, I found my move to CALM was a refreshing change and soon appreciated the ability CALM has to react quickly to business change and the needs of the customer. All staff and management have been great to work with and engender a tremendous team spirit that has helped make my transition to working in a new industry as painless and seamless as possible.”
